SimpleServ exists for one person: the volunteer coordinator at a small church who spends Tuesday nights in a group text, trying to figure out who's actually coming on Sunday. This page is who we are and why the product is shaped the way it is.
The story
The scheduling system was a person, and she was tired
Every small church has one: the person who "does the schedule." Not staff, usually. A volunteer with a day job, a group text with 40 unread messages, and a spreadsheet from three years ago. They ask, re-ask, remind, and replace, week after week, and the only confirmation system is their own memory.
The existing software mostly wasn't built for them. The big platforms are excellent for churches with staff and systems, and genuinely overwhelming for a church where the entire problem is "I need seven people confirmed by Sunday."
So SimpleServ got built the other way around: start with the tired coordinator and the volunteer who will never download an app, and refuse every feature that doesn't serve them. Requests go out by email. Volunteers tap yes or no. The dashboard tells you where Sunday stands in one sentence. That's the product.
Who's behind it
A very small team, on purpose
SimpleServ is built by Cody Woodlee under the Sunday Squad banner. Small enough that the "Need a hand?" button in Settings goes straight to the founder, and every founding church application gets a personal reply. That's not a support tier, it's just how small we are, and we like it that way.

Four rules the product lives by
Small on purpose
SimpleServ will never become a church operating system. No service planning modules, no giving platform, no song library. It fills your Sunday spots and gets you real answers, and every feature we add has to make that one job easier, not the product bigger.
The volunteer never pays the complexity cost
Every scheduling tool eventually asks the volunteer to do homework: create an account, download an app, maintain an availability profile. We refuse. Volunteers get an email and tap one of two buttons, forever. All the complexity stays on our side.
Plain English or it doesn't ship
Statuses are Confirmed, Waiting, Declined, or Open. The dashboard says "You're 1 person short," not "3 unresolved assignment states." If a feature needs a training video, it isn't done.
Honest pricing, honest comparisons
Flat prices a church budget can predict, a free plan that stays free, and comparison pages that tell you when a competitor is genuinely the better choice. We'd rather lose a signup than fudge that.
